Hot and Cold water systems may need disinfection for a number of reasons, whether it’s the installation of a new system, a failed microbial water sample or if it has been out of use for a long period of time. Our City & Guilds qualified engineers are all experienced in carrying out this type of work.
At some point, most water systems will require cleaning and disinfection. Often called chlorination the process involves dosing the system with chemicals to kill any bacteria present before flushing out the chemicals.
The legislation now no longer states that a clean and disinfection of a cold water tank is an annual requirement, but ‘as and when required, however as part of your legionella management regime you should carry out regular inspections to ensure that storage tanks are clean.
